- Cou Cou my Dears!
I just recently popped into the Pierre Cardin exhibit at the Rosecliff in Newport, Rhode Island. Pierre Cardin is an Italian-born French designer who I love. His clothes, as you can see in my pictures, are incredibly unique! He is known for using many geometric designs in his clothes that give almost a space-age feel. I loved everything about this exhibit. First I learned so much more about him. Second, the exhibit is so well curated you feel like you are inside an artist’s time capsule viewed through a french lens. For those of you who know me… you get why I’m already sold there. The magnificent colors and architectural details were so forward thinking. He was a visionary in so many ways. Not just his designs but his business build out that some designers have chosen to follow and capitalize on. Yes there are different arguments that some have on his selling out. But there can be no debate about Pierre changing how we wore and saw fashion. It runs until the end of the year so if you find yourself in the northeast it’s worth the trip.
P.S. The Rosecliff Mansion Tour is also a fabulous peek into a bygone era. Here is a link to the mansion’s website if you’d like to explore it more. http://www.newportmansions.org/explore/rosecliff
